Three international conferences are taking place this year and will examine «The Synergy and Divergence between Civil Law and Common Law in International Arbitration». The theme will be developed during each conference by identifying the issues and then developing solutions, using a pragmatic approach to the understanding and utilisation of both systems within arbitration. The first flagship international conference was held in Dubai in March which looked at the Middle Eastern and Asian point of view. Over fifty speakers and one hundred and nineteen delegates from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds participated in the event. The last event in the series took place in Johannesburg in July 2017 which covered issues relating to the African continent.

The European and American angle will be considered in the final and concluding conference to take place in Paris on 7-8 December 2017. This two-day conference will showcase lectures and panel discussions, and feature important speakers in the arbitration world.
